What You Think About... Becomes Your Reality
5 Principles For Creating What We Want
1. Every human behaves in a manner that is consistent with the beliefs held within their subconscious mental core.
2. YOU influence your own subconscious mental core with the thoughts, feelings, and experiences YOU hold within YOUR conscious mind on a continuing basis.
3. YOUR subconscious mental core is the result of how YOU interpreted all YOUR life experiences, how YOU perceive yourself and YOUR external environment.
4. One of the main components you can easily control to alter your mental core quickly is your IMAGINATION and your FEELINGS about what you imagine.
5. To the degree that you vividly imagine an experience, person, place, or event, it is registered as REAL and a VIVIDLY IMAGINED experience.
(from the book PowerMind)
Looking at principle five, that what we image becomes our experience is proven in this brain scan. The second to bottom line shows the brain when we are seeing a place (for example a beach in Hawaii), the bottom line is when we imagine the same beach. Do you see how our brain lights up in the same place as if we are really seeing it. Why? Because the brain does not know the difference between what we are really seeing, and what we imagine. Then what we see/imagine most of the time becomes our reality.
So what is it that you want, be or do? Imagine it, see it, but you also have to add emotional and passion to that vision. Why, because this is creating more receptor connections in the brain now making what you believe something the brain will keep reinforcing. Professional sports people use the technique of imaging what they do on a daily basis to keep reinforcing what they want to accomplish.
You take in 20,000,000 pieces of environmental stimulus per second but we are only conscious of 40 pieces, make sure you are paying attention to what you want to focus on and have in your conscious. The brain will keep figuring out how to create what you focus on the most. How do we keep what we want focused in our brains? See below for some simple yet important techniques.
How To Create What You Want
Set goals and write them down
Spend time daily imagining and thinking about what you want
Dream
Have a dream/vision board
Make sure your focus is on what you want, not what you don't want
Share these dreams/goals with others
Feel the emotion of why these goals are important to you
